I’m shocked that fics based around this episode or, more succinctly, the the divergence of The Cure not working and Dean staying a vampire, isn’t more of a thing. There’s so much conflict you can derive from that.
Dean having a Louie de Pointe du Lac style existential crisis because he has a base instinct to kill what he has spent his whole life protecting.
Dean doing battle with his own bloodlust and refusing to drink even animal blood because even though he’s a monster he won’t let himself become one.
Dean going on a one man vampire hunting spree because if he can’t stop himself from being one of them, he can at least make it so that he’s the only one.
Playing Vampire!Dean against Souless!Sam. What’s worse? Having an inhuman or no soul at all?
Why is this not more of a thing? Seriously, I’m in love with this idea.
It’s been three years and I still want this. Fuck I might just write it myself.
