why is it so important to people writing fanfiction that Sam be behind Deans every decision?

• Deans going to college cause Sam nagged him (usually often after waiting for Sam to be old enough to go to college too because…who fucking knows why)
• Deans getting his GED because Sam nagged him
• Dean finishes High School because Sam nagged him
• Dean is going to speed dating because Sam nagged him
• Dean is going to another country because Sam nagged him
• Dean is going on vacation because Sam nagged him
• Dean is looking for another job because Sam nagged him
• Dean is getting married because Sam nagged him
• Dean is breaking up with someone because Sam nagged him
• Dean is going to stop sleeping around because Sam nagged him
• Dean asks …….out because Sam nagged him

This could go on forever, half the time I wonder how Sam would even know about/ have anything to do with half the things he is nagging about. Seriously WTF

LET DEAN HAVE HIS OWN LIFE! LET THE DECISION TO DO THINGS BE HIS! WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO GIVE SAM CREDIT FOR ANY POSITIVE LIFE DECISIONS DEAN MAKES?

The most amazign thing is that… we’re supposed to think SAM is a good guy and loves and respects his brother, despite him being a nagging idiot who  apparently can’t respect his brother’s life choices on those fics.
