Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.

However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.

All I can think about is a vampire used to not seeing their reflection in mirrors for centuries, and one day they are just walking along and unknowingly pass a mirror backed with aluminum and THEY NEARLY SHIT THEMSELVES.

Upchuck the black vulture (Chuck for short). Happy Halloween!

I’d never thought I’d say this, but that is a very cute vulture.

You might be surprised at how cute vultures can be! While Chuck is a little uncomfortable about large crowds, he is super cuddly with people he trusts and is a total ham for the camera. I’ve only gotten the chance to hang out with him a few times, but he’s very clever and a joy to work with!

[anon said: You’ve probably already done this but can you do a set with Dean and his parental figures + affection? Like, John hugging him, Dream!Mary making him breakfast, Sonny caring for him, Bobby hugging him, Jody squeezing his hand, you know?? Soft moments.]

Okay, I’ve been staring at this for a few days and I would love to make this set , but I feel it’s only fair to tell you I probably wouldn’t be able to restrain myself from adding on a long commentary about the fact that Mary only gets billing on a parental figures + affection gifset as a dream.

As a dream.

This is the saddest fucking thing I can think of. I mean, even John, who was, by any sane person’s judgment, not winning any parent of the year awards, has this moment here

and okay he’s a spirit but he’s still actually John. Dean is touch starved. People rarely ever show him physical affection. There are hugs, but those are usually glad you’re not dead hugs, and not just let me hug you because I love you. Dean receiving physical affection rarely ever happens, even though Dean doles it out all the time. To Sam, for example.

And Cas, though not as often.

Charlie too

Even with Ben, a kid he just met.

He sought out physical affection from Lisa, finally safe enough to do so.

So, Dean is touch starved and yet he is physically affectionate with the people he loves. And though it’s rare, the other people in Dean’s life, parental figure or not, have given him physical affection.

But not Mary.

Not his own mother

That’s so sad.

TIL that Bob Ross had an intense feud with his art teacher, William Alexander, who grew so frustrated with Bob Ross that he said: ‘He betrayed me…I invented ‘wet on wet.’ I trained him and he is copying me – what bothers me is not just that he betrayed me, but that he thinks he can do it better.“

via ift.tt

The article this links too is super bitter and I’ll not have anyone slander Bob Ross like this!  There wasn’t really a “feud” between Alexander and Ross, it really just seemed like Alexander was jealous about Ross, you know, using the technique he was taught (imagine that). Ross, on the other hand, dedicated an episode to Alexander saying, “
Bill taught me this fantastic technique, and I feel as though he gave me a precious gift, and I’d like to share that gift with you.“

Also many people have pointed out that the “wet-on-wet" technique actually originated in the 15th century (a bit before Bill’s time), and was used by pretty famous painters already like Claude Monet, among others.
