For anyone that’s interested in makeup, I really recommend supporting Beauty Bakerie.
This is Cashmere Nicole. She was a poor, single mother who suffered through having to go through a double mastectomy thanks to breast cancer at 27. She’s an incredible, positive person that has since gone on to make a gorgeous beauty brand.
I mean, look at this stuff:
Beauty Bakerie is a very small, independent brand based in the US. It’s cruelty-free. It’s vegan. It’s gorgeous. (I will be spending my money when I can afford to.)
But… why am I randomly supporting some random cosmetic company?
Because this great, small company was plagiarised by Huda Beauty.
You know, Huda Beauty. The one with the desert aesthetic. Who asked Beauty Bakerie for a package to look at, then suddenly decided to launch their own “bakery” aesthetic. Who, when called out for copying a smaller brand, first decided to ignore the criticism, and then who claimed that they’d never even heard of Beauty Bakerie, instead of simply admitting that they were inspired by Cashmere’s brand to help support her, like a decent person and company would do.
So, if you’re into makeup, or want to splash out on a great brand, avoid Huda Beauty and the thief Huda Kattan, and support the brand that actually deserves it.
