Sam’s passion is in the “Saving People”, and he hunts things to do it. Dean does too, don’t get me wrong he has a HUGE heart, but that makes him dangerous when he was conditioned from a young age to focus on the “Hunting things” and enjoy saving people along the way.

Um…no. Saving people has always been a top priority for Dean long before Sam came back to hunt with Dean (after Jess died). And this truth is no clearer than when watching the first season. Several episodes consisted of Dean having to convince Sam to prioritize saving people over looking for John.

Someone please save Dean from the writers and this fandom.

Dean says “saving people, hunting things” not “hunting things, saving people.” How much more blatantly obvious does he need to be about his priorities before people pick up on them?

Sam ALWAYS prioritizes whatever the hell he is involved in way higher than “Saving People”. Back in episode 2 he wanted to leave 3 possible living people to the “mercy” of a Wendigo because it was wasting his TIME. THAT is why Dean had to bring out the “Saving people, hunting things” phrase. Hell, there are times when Dean has had to talk Sam DOWN from the “let’s sacrifice someone” plan.

Whoever thinks Sam cares about the saving people part more than about the “being a hero” part, has not been watching Supernatural.
