Well, Dean HAD just gone for a drink. And when he came back, Sam had gone to meet Mary. And stayed, getting the guided tour of the BMoL HQ. And ended up quite taken in by them. In spite of all the fuckery he’d seen.

While Dean had some of Ketch’s booze, then went out hunting with him the old-fashioned way without any gizmos. And encountered first-hand Mr Ketch’s charm. And he did not fall for any of their crap. 

And now Sam is the one who wants “some time” to work on Dean to win him over to the BMoL’s ways.
