I don’t like Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer. Never have, never will.

I didn’t like him as Nick, I didn’t like him as Lucifer in season 5, I especially didn’t like Hallucifer, I didn’t like him in his short appearance in season 11, and I sure as shit don’t like him now.

I’m over and done with Lucifer in all incarnations and not even liking Mark Pellegrino is not helping the situation.

My one and only hope is that somehow, against all odds, Crowley does actually prove to be clever enough to outsmart Lucifer, but I’m not even a little optimistic…

I liked Lucifer in season five when he had nuance beholden of a mythological figure that has evolved over the last two and half millennia.Yeah, he was the Christian Devil, but he was also the Jewish Samael/HaSatan and he burned cold because Dante’s Inferno. They were drawing from a lot of mythological information and it was pretty intelligent and I would say ballsy for the show to be that self-aware of the mythology they were utilizing and to admit that it’s evolved over time.

Now Lucifer’s all upside crosses (which aren’t even a symbol of Satan in the first place, they’re the Cross of Saint Peter), glowing red eyes and burning bibles. It’s so..insultingly stupid.
