I am so impressed with the lifting community, seriously. I see SO MUCH diversity, and SO MUCH support for POC, sex workers, body positivity, LGBTQ, religious tolerance, disabilities and mental health, income levels… Seriously you are all just the absolute best. In the fucking SHOPLIFTING community. We’re supposed to be some sort of detriment to society, but I have never felt so comfortable and safe in a ~community before. You want to know who shoplifters are hurting? Other consumers (especially those with limited income) because stores must raise their prices to make up for the theft of their items, the people who are trying to make a living from those jobs, and the stores who have to spend more money to implement security measures as a result of shoplifting. Many low wage workers have a lot of pressure put on them when it comes to shoplifters. If there’s a noticeable amount of inventory shrinkage, they possibly have the risk of getting fired. So not are you only harming business owners (especially small business owners), you’re harming low income workers, some of which could be POC, LGBT, etc, etc; the people you claim to defend so much.
