Okay so after 11×18 Hell’s Angel something has been bothering me

In 11×11 Into the Mystic, when Dean and Mildred had their little chat

Everyone wanted to believe she was talking about Castiel and trust me I did too. But with the whole Dean and Amara story arc and all that I don’t think destiel was what the writers were going for.

Amara obviously has such a hold on Dean

AND THAT’S WHAT MAKES DEAN ‘PINING’ AFTER AMARA SO MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT IN DESTIEL CASE

Because after the newest episode, after everything, Dean’s focus was on Castiel. And i know this has been pointed out time and time again but lets say Dean is ‘pining’ after Amara in some messed up way over some control or ‘bond’ Amara has over him. Lets say no matter how hard he tries to resist it, it’s still there and he can’t help himself.

SO NOW we have him in Amara’s presence, Dean’s deepest darkest desire supposedly, but guess who manages to overcome that?

Cas

And of course this confuses Amara, why wouldn’t it?

Dean is in her presence and doesn’t even acknowledge her, because he’s too worried about Cas

Castiel is the angel Amara deemed ‘not important’. She couldn’t see why Cas could possibly have potential in God’s eyes. Of course, she doesn’t give it a second thought. Because her brother’s opinion means nothing to her. So she waves Cas off as insignificant

But now Dean, the man she has such a infatuation over, is putting Cas above all else. And I think this is a very important scene. Because Amara is seeing for the first time, what a threat Cas could be. Not Lucifer, but Castiel.

And honestly I think this makes her angry. She’s hurt at first in the gif above but it turns into anger. But I don’t think that’s directed at Lucifer at all, even though he just tried to kill her. I think it’s directed at Castiel. Because he is the first one who broke her connection with Dean, and he’s not even present at the moment.

So I’m excited to see where the writers are going to go with this. Personally I hope that after the whole thing with Castiel being expendable they really play up his importance in the climax. Because Cas is not expendable and the majority of the fandom would agree.

He is a warrior of God.

God’s favorite angel

AND I THINK AMARA FINALLY UNDERSTANDS HOW BIG OF A THREAT CAS AND DEANS RELATIONSHIP COULD BE TO HER

Can I just add that we got this in a bucklemming episode? Which actually means it carries a bit more weight since they traditionally do not touch anything even slightly resembling Destiel with a Bob Singer length pole? (UGH THAT’S SO GROSS SORRY!!).
