in light of sam being so sure that dean would rescue him from the cage/lucifer when he made the choice to go talk to him right that moment, trusting the same rowena who had already screwed him up once – in other words, in light of dean making the ‘heart choice rather than the smart choice’  – i find extremely hypocritical of him to now claim that they should let cas make his decisions or respect his decisions. 

it is also ridiculous to tie this to something i’ve seen referred as respectting one’s agency.
