bitterfordean:

tangible double standards within this fandom:

  • sam is allowed to say that he was lonely as a child (also as an adult – see ruby, amelia, etc) and had a friend that supported him (told him to run away? lol).
  • ^ not only does dean accept that friend but he tells that friend thank you for being there for sam when he was not.
  • meanwhile, when dean makes relationships outside of his brother for emotional support/because he’s lonely/because he needs someone (see: benny), he is made to be a villain because obviously he wronged sam by making connections with outside characters and he was therefore ignoring his brother.
  • ^ and is then in the narrative made out to feel guilty and look horrible for having those friendships.
  • dean is also a piece of shit brother because as a child he didn’t do his “job” of taking care of his (also a child) little brother yet their father is not to blame at all for this because he was grieving and “tried his best” to do right by his sons.
  • but yes, let’s put all of the blame for the raising of a child on the shoulders of a character that was a child himself.
  • and let’s not mention how awful dean is for not supporting his brother going back to lucifer’s cage. even though if he was supporting sam’s dumbass idea, he’d be getting shit on for allowing sam to do something so dangerous and horrible. but he’s also awful for not supporting the horrible idea. this character cannot win.

Weems, the zanna with a Zeppelin shirt who can play sick air guitar, specializes in alcoholic parents and looks like he walked right out of 1983. I know a lot of people think he was Ash’s zanna, but consider this:

What if Weems was Dean’s zanna?

What if Dean had Weems for such a short amount of time before he ‘didn’t need him anymore’ that he simply can’t remember him? Weems  didn’t acknowledge Dean because a Zannas job is to do what’s best for the child and, in Dean’s case, not reminding him of his stolen childhood is the best thing.

How dare you.

Because I’m Satan.
