Sam doesn’t care that much for Dean? What show are you watching?! Did you miss the part where Dean died and Sam clutched his corpse crying then carried his body all the way home to summon the king of hell to try and save him?! The denial is strong with this one.

luxshine:

Oh, no, I didnt’ miss that part, back in season 10. However, I also didn’t miss the following:

Sam had no pictures of Dean in the apartment he shared with Jess, as proven by the fact that Jess didn’t recognize Dean. (pilot)

Sam did not want to introduce Dean to any of his friends, not even when Dean was risking his life to save two of them  (skin)

Sam always demeans Dean’s intelligence, making fun of when Dean shows thinking outside the box (Starts in Dead in the Water, hasn’t stopped in 11 seasons.)

Every time Sam gets hit with a “act on your instincts spell” he tries to kill Dean (started with Asylum). Not only that, he doesn’t resist, and has shoot Dean more than once.

When Dean was going to hell for saving Sam’s life, Sam was more interested in being Dean’s savior than in enjoying with Dean Dean’s last year alive.

When Dean came back, Sam was more interested in proving he was “tougher” than Dean and the “Chosen one” instead of noticing his brother’s very obvious PTSD.

Sam blackmailed Dean into retiring from hunting, forcing him to go after Sam’s dream life rather than let Dean grieve his own way.

Once he was topside again, Sam let Dean go a whole year with survivors guilt and PTSD instead of telling him he was alive UNTIL he needed Dean for a hunt (and no, “he was souless” is no longer an excuse, as the show has made canon that even if a souless person has no afterlife and the individual ceases to exist, they still know right from wrong, CAN do the right thing if they choose to AND act upon the person’s base instincts)

Because he needed Dean as a tool, Sam destroyed Dean and Lisa’s relationship.

He let a vampire turn Dean into a vampire because he was “curious”, not knowing OR caring if Dean would be able to resist the thirst until he was cured.

Didn’t look for Dean or even researched what happened to Dean after Dick Roman exploded (Despite his dialogue clearly indicated that he didn’t believe Dean was dead in the Season 7 finale)

Was annoyed and angry that Dean came back from Purgatory.

Blackmailed Dean into cutting contact with his friend (At the same time as he demeaned Dean and assured him he had no friends)

Emotionally blackmailed Dean to make sure that Dean would never put anyone as more important or equally important as Sam.

Then decided to disown his brother because Dean did something stupid to save Sam’s life.

Proceeded to ignore the MoC until Abaddon did something that was personal towards Sam (stealing souls)

Forgave Gadreel while refusing to forgive Dean.

Had no complaints about using Dean as a weapon, as long as he decided where to point him.

Ignored and disregarded Dean’s wishes regarding the MoC (Causing a lot of chaos in his path)

Blames Dean for a)his blood addiction, b) freeing Lucifer, c) releasing the Darkness.

Weaponized Dean’s memory of their mother in order to force Dean to do things Dean doesn’t want to do (this has happened since the Pilot too)

And this is just a compilation of Sam’s greatest hits regarding his brother.

So yeah, no. I don’t think Sam cares as much for Dean as Dean cares for Sam.

Just an observation.

Sam has visions after he prayed and decides the visions came from God. No doubt, no hesitation.
Others: are you sure? Maybe you just want them to be from God?
Sam: NO! They’re from God. Period. (cause no one else can send them, you know).

Dean is told that God commanded to save him from Hell.
Dean: why me? I’m not important. I’m no good. There’s no way God would have any interest in me.

Gash, sometimes I wonder how those two are even related.

This is why I like Dean so much. Sam might have the lions share of religiosity and belief, but it’s Dean, even though he’s a skeptic, who is the saint because Dean comes from a place of humility, doubt and non-entitlement. I really like that about him. Hence why I think Divine!Dean is so damn compelling.

high-key offended that my son castiel had to break sam out of the cage at great personal risk and had to lead an incursion of angels to free dean from hell and here sam and dean and the king of hell are just casually talking about rope climbing into the cage like this is PE class
