I think it’s important to note that Dean killed Lucifer as Dean and not AU!Michael. An angelically powered Dean, sure, but Dean none the less.
Not only is killing Lucifer a Jesus thing (the most Jesus thing Dean could ever do, really) killing Lucifer as Dean doubles down on it. And why? Because Dean is the epitome of Free Will and Humanity. He’s The Son of Man, if you will.
AU!Michael, on the other hand, is the archangel who destroyed AU!Earth and made himself God in the total absence of God and aims to do the same to OG!Earth. He is, for all intents and purposes, the AntiChrist.
Dean, being the bastion of Free Will that he is, will fight Michael for as long as Michael possess him.
So while I’m less than thrilled about Michael!Dean, we could very well get Dean and Michael duking it out inside of Dean in a sort of internal battle of Armageddon.

Sam, the proper response to “I don’t care what happens to me” is not “If we die we’ll do that together, too.” It’s “I do care what happens to you.” Like, toxic codependency and all, but this one was real simple.
And here is the final bit, went with Michael’s Lance because why not. Jensen’s face is a challenge and a half but I think it turned out okay.
Here we go!
i don’t know, i just think it would be cool if someone could offer some help to the exhausted dude who has clearly given up on life and who is literally a walking shell of dean winchester. but i guess we’re just supposed to berate him for his pain instead. that’s awesome.
Okay….So if Dean being hard on Jack is what brings Cas back… Will Sam lay off his ass. I mean he’s been preaching to him to be on Jack’s side for days. And know he is comparing his dark time to Lucifer’s kid. I’m sorry but I’m with Dean it’s not the same thing.
Not sure why it’s so easy to give a character that has only been around two episodes more compassion and understanding than a character whose journey we’ve been following for thirteen seasons.
Also, does it weird anyone else out how a lot of the fandom has just accepted Jack? “He’s so pure. He’s so innocent. Poor baby.” While I’m very wary. I completely understand Dean’s hesitance to trust and allow Jack into his heart.
I HATE when characters are infantilized by the show and its fandom. It’s one of the reasons I’ve mostly lost interest in Cas, and currently a part of the reason I can’t warm up to Jack.
Right now I’m neutral towards Jack, but if the show continues to use cheap, manipulative tricks -like having Jack exhibit Cas traits or mirror Dean’s actions and behavior- then they can put me in the “I can’t stand Jack” category. Because then he’ll just be an echo of characters I actually do like, have spent multiple years following their journey: characters who’ve earned my love, trust, and respect (I really only mean Dean at this point).
…aaaand here we go again with Sam telling Dean how Dean feels, and
telling other people how Dean feels and why they don’t really need to pay attention to what Dean thinks or says because it’s just Dean being Dean. And just like last season, or in season 2 after John’s death, Sam is overly focused on how Dean is dealing with grief and
loss. Also, I’m pretty sure that Sam making Jack his new Overcome
Your Inner Monster project is strongly motivated by Sam looking for ways to
avoid having to deal with what’s happened. It’s not just Dean who buries himself in work to forget the pain.
