i dont get why they thinks its a good not changing the BD but still portraying as horrific is a good idea. not changing it but showing at has a good/not that bad thing? ok i dont like but makes sense, at least manipulate me into thinkings this is desirable thing but asking me to regonize its toxic but accepts continued existence?? on what type of story and lack of development is this planning on showcasting in the next 2-3 or more seasons

Kripke era, s1–5: Simple and very attractive concept: The brothers love each other, look out for each other and take risks for each other. Willing to make demon deals for each other, but also willing to let go of each other to save innocent people/the world. Your basic intense attachment between two heroic characters. Tried and true, the basis of every cop/buddy show/movie from the last 5–6 decades.

Gamble era, s6–7: The brothers are pretty much united against the world (when there’s not something wrong with one of them). Willing to go to great lengths for each other, but the bro bond isn’t really explored or tested in the same way. It’s a relief really.

Carver era, s8–11?: Here’s where the issues start. Carver wants to complicate the show’s core relationship, test it, ask uncomfortable questions about it. He keeps putting it under stress and trying to force the viewers into incrementally more weird, contorted positions regarding it. The brothers ditch other people in their lives (Benny, Amelia) to maintain their unhealthy, too-close clinging to each other, they endanger countless civilians/the whole world (by not closing the gates of Hell, by releasing the Darkness and killing Death) to save each other, they even betray and violate each other (Gadreel, Book of the Damned)… It was an interesting idea to explore for maybe one or two seasons, but after almost four seasons of this, the bro bond has turned into the biggest bad on the show. The storyline doesn’t hold up for this kind of prolonged stress and it’s killing the show.

Dabb?? era? s12?–?? Could it be time for a new showrunner? Carver has a new show to run, and while it’s apparently not unheard of to manage several shows at once, second-in-command Dabb is writing this season’s finale. Hmmm???? Maybe time for a new take on the brothers’ relationship?
