I can’t help but laugh at those Samsung “smart refrigerator” commercials where all the family is laughing and smiling at its cameras and telling it to order food for them. Like enjoy your government spy device. Samsung doesn’t even try to hide their shit is constantly recording you.

Honestly, everytime someone says “the Supernatural fandom is a family!” I’m reminded of Metatron:

“Listen to you. Still spitting out the company line like anyone cares. Like we’re actually a family?”

If the SPN fandom is a family, it’s a toxic one. Sure, fans can and have come together to raise awareness for depression and deforestation….but when you’re interacting with the fandom? It’s all a crock of shit.

How many people have admitted they’re afraid to voice their opinions in the fandom? Or when you do, you’re met with snippiness and your post is passed around a bunch of assholes who will just mock you and what you have to say rather than listen and start an actual conversation.

Or other fans DEMAND you like a certain arc/spinoff/character/ship or you’ll be harrassed, accused of being things you’re not, and have to turn off anon for a while.

Not really a big deal. When you state your opinions, especially unpopular ones, you should expect others to disagree.

But what happens is: people take it personally, get defensive, and start attacking you.

The only thing that sets the Supernatural fandom apart from any other fandom I’ve been in: (almost) everyone has deluded themselves into thinking it’s some utopia fandom.

If you’re gonna be in this “family”, you’re better off sticking to the cool aunt and two cousins you can actually tolerate in this family get together. Just like any other fandom on this site.

A giant, black, sarcophagus has been found in Alexandria and I could not be more excited about it.

If we do open it we could find

  • The tomb of Alexander the Great (Coolest possible answer. Probably the coolest thing we’ve found in my lifetime unless aliens decide to show up.)
  • Rando important Egyptian Pharaoh ( Also cool answer. Definitely an awesome find.)
  • An ancient and unspeakable evil (We haven’t had a good ol’ doomsday level curse in a good long while. Definitely overdue for this one)

It’s a win/win/win scenario.
