If you go back and watch the pilot you’ll realize Dean opened up when he admited to Sam he didn’t want to hunt alone. And the camp fire chat in episode 2, With Lucas in episode 3, and admitted he was afaid to fly in epiosde 4. Dean’s the most open character on the show. He wears his heart on his sleeve and always has.

Realistically, you would have probably gotten more of this fucking leatherface kiwi bird from hell which would have absolutely been even more terrifying to see on your death bed
