Okay, I’ve been staring at this for a few days and I would love to make this set , but I feel it’s only fair to tell you I probably wouldn’t be able to restrain myself from adding on a long commentary about the fact that Mary only gets billing on a parental figures + affection gifset as a dream.

As a dream.

This is the saddest fucking thing I can think of. I mean, even John, who was, by any sane person’s judgment, not winning any parent of the year awards, has this moment here

and okay he’s a spirit but he’s still actually John. Dean is touch starved. People rarely ever show him physical affection. There are hugs, but those are usually glad you’re not dead hugs, and not just let me hug you because I love you. Dean receiving physical affection rarely ever happens, even though Dean doles it out all the time. To Sam, for example. 

And Cas, though not as often. 

Charlie too

Even with Ben, a kid he just met. 

He sought out physical affection from Lisa, finally safe enough to do so. 

So, Dean is touch starved and yet he is physically affectionate with the people he loves. And though it’s rare, the other people in Dean’s life, parental figure or not, have given him physical affection. 

But not Mary. 

Not his own mother. 

That’s so sad.
