i love how when cas or sam are suicidal, there’s so many posts that demand that dean should care about them and posts that say it’s dean’s fault because he didn’t give them enough hugs or some shit

but when it’s dean who is suicidal, it’s all about dean loving other people or who he loves the most, and mb other characters slapping him/beating him to get over it

I can’t help but wonder how people can be so blind as to think Dean being suicidal has anything to do with love. It’s not love, its self-hatred. Which is why its so sad. 😦

Sure, Dean could sacrifice himself out of love for Sam (and that would be something he’d do, too), but Dean saying he doesn’t care what happens to himself is self-hate and that’s sad. To have so much hate for yourself that you literally don’t care if you live is a depressing and serious concept. 

And, no, I’m not looking for Dean to be cured–its likely he’ll always retain a part of that self-hate because its so ingrained into him–but it would be nice to see his family and friends at least try to tell him he’s a good man and worthy of life and love. I’d like to see them tell him he makes a positive difference in the world and in their lives.
