i have never seen someone insist that castiel and april wasn’t rape. not even once (altho hey i could be wrong). it’s pretty much accepted in fandom, tweeted to the writers, called out as wrong. repeated in each piece of meta abt cas’s traumas.

and it is the exact same situation btw lydia and dean. 

with the added element of reproductive coercion. but since castiel was a sexually inexperienced virgin the fans were already prepared to see him as a victim (which is messed up in its own way). dean on the other hand likes casual sex so even after he’s been preyed on by a monster it’s considered a pity party to acknowledge he was violated in any way.

even though i always see people complain about buckleming and their rape fixation, the slice girls which was written by them 2 seasons prior to i’m no angel and featured a similar situation is not discussed in those same terms at all. not only that but it gets framed a lesson dean had to be taught about sleeping around. like he was the bad guy or at least brought it on himself. it’s suspicious, for sure.
