I don’t think John did his best.

I dont think John did his best. I think he /tried/ his best. He tried to look after them. He tried to teach them, to make sure they were safe, to make sure they understood. But he was dealing with his wifes death and his lust for revenge and fear and curiosity. And he focused on that. So, while he TRIED to be a good father, he couldn’t stop other things getting in the way. But i dont think he did his best – his best wouldve been to let it go and look after them better, or to let someone else help take care of the children while he hunted. It wouldve been easy for him. And he /tried/ to give them that environment. But he also let other things get in the way, and didnt actually /do/ it

I don’t think he tried his best either.
