12×05 | The One You’ve Been Waiting For

Instead of throwing around grand psychoanalytic terms he doesn’t fully understand, Sam should maybe look up more basic concepts like “giving other people space”.

I interpreted this scene more like it’s Sam who wants to talk about how he really feels about his Mom leaving. As a person that grow up without one of his parents my ideal scenario if this parent comes back is that they never ever live my side, not even for the bathroom, and I hoped the same with Mary. My world wrecked when I saw her leaving (because it breaks my heart that even this doesn’t work out the way it should) and I think that Sam (even if he doesn’t know) wanted she to stay in his sight, where he can assure himself that she isn’t going to disappear in thin air.

I’m sure it’s true that Sam didn’t want her to leave either but if Sam wants to talk about it then SAM should say he wants to talk about it because of how he feels, not try and lay it off on Dean like Dean is the one with the problematic feelings.

It’s called projection and all of us do it everyday. And if he’s doing it (I do believe it) then he would for sure start with what he BELIEVES are Dean problems.

And what I’m saying is, he’s wrong to do it to Dean.  Dean doesn’t deserve to be made to feel like he’s doing something wrong simply because Sam can’t own up to his feelings.
