Dean hurts himself and those who love him by being emotionally constipated. Telling them his feelings is progress he is so slow to grasp. Dean’s emotions are irrational and expressing them is a burden to others. He should have learned better by now. You should have learned better by now, too.
You write about how something affected Dean. You’re forgetting to take Sam or Cas’s feelings into account. It’s not fair to leave that out, and you must be fair. These are the actions that happened, you say, but you should look at it from the other character’s point of view.
How can you not love what Dean loves? Dean would murder you for hating Sam or Cas. Dean loved Benny—, you say. Benny was a filthy user who would have betrayed Dean eventually. He was an unrealistic plot device. No one can be that good to Dean without it being fake.
You see a gifset of times Dean has begged possessed people not to kill him, and under it someone has written How can he not see how much they love him?
Dean’s so used to physical pain that it doesn’t hurt him anymore. The show doesn’t treat injuries seriously anyway, it doesn’t actually mean anything. They were angry and overwhelmed, and violence is the only language Dean understands. You and he should both stop holding a grudge about it.
Dean needs to learn to let go. It’s not all about him and his issues. Dean needs to learn to be there properly for the other characters. It’s not all about him and his issues. It’s always about Dean’s issues. There is always a lesson for him to learn.
